Would you stand up and walk out on me? No, you wouldn't. You would get up and sing along with me. I know you would. Because you have.
Feeling out of tune?
Whether it's a night of karaoke or life that is just not in sync, you get out of tune once in a while. Then you talk to yourself, and not in a nice way, which gets you frustrated, then you get down on yourself, then you throw in the towel, because you are exhausted.
You don't need someone to tell you you are out of tune, you know that already.
You are at the beach.
You are on a boat.
With all of your friends.
You have a jalapeño margarita.
Then another.
And another.
Then your best friend makes a late night snack of shredded pork nachos
......and who are you to turn that down?
Just know that it's ok. Actually, more than ok. Life would be a little robotic and uninteresting if you didn't...
let go of the to-do list
enjoy the martini
indulge in the Real Housewives
relax that crease between your brows
loosen up "the rules"
You have an internal gauge that guides you
The same way you know....
when summer is ending
when fall is coming
when morning draws
when darkness falls
You also have a sense of
what to drink
what to eat
when to rest
when to pause
when to stop
when to go
But it gets fuzzy, confusing with all the hype
the never ending summer fun
the Instagram posts- pressuring you to have the time of your life every day
the work boss that has no sense-of morning/night/weekend
the "mom, mom, mom"
the peloton bike staring at you
the wfh zoom calls
the apple watch telling you to walk more, stand more, do more
Breathe
Live like summer is ending.
Sing out of tune.
If you need someone to hear you, to follow your rhythm...
Lots of love and tons of health,
Jill
