And who is Fisher? I'll tell you all about him at the end of this post, but for now, he's our brand new, 1 year old rescue dog, and the sweetest thing in our lives right now.
And you know what? He doesn't care if I eat carbs, or if you eat carbs. Actually, who does care if you eat carbs? I have a feeling it's just you.
You get caught up in keeping score-you ate pizza Friday, so you have to be "good" on Saturday. Sunday was just too much of a Funday so you're paying for it in your HIIT class on Monday. And is it only me that was "persuaded" to buy candy corns?? I mean, it's October.
It's a game you play by yourself, that is not the most fun and is most certainly exhausting.
So, instead of putting yourself down, all by yourself, maybe there's a better way.
Where you don't wage the battle against yourself.
Where you eat food you actually like.
Where you aren't left feeling hungry...or cranky.
So, I think we've all come a long way since the original Atkins diet and eating Swedish Fish because they are "low fat" then, and you probably already know that carbs are fuel for your body, and they come in all forms.
Bananas
Fruit
Dates
Sweet Potatoes
Beets
Beans
Honey
Quinoa
Oats
The other forms of carbs, the ones your kids bring home from 7-11 and Dunkin', those are the ones that we know bring you down.
So, back to Fisher. He is a rescue from a foster-based rescue called Home for Good Dog Rescue, in Berkeley Heights, NJ. He is a Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix and he is our 50lb. lap dog, pure love. The HFGD rescue is a great place to check out if you are looking for an addition to your family.
